A water treatment system can perform well and still be frustrating to own if a small failed part takes the entire system out of service. Before you buy equipment, or while your current system is still working, find out how you would obtain filters, seals, valves, lamps and technical help when something goes wrong.

The goal is not to stock every possible component. It is to identify the items that wear out predictably, the failures that can stop water flow and the steps required to place the system in bypass safely. A little preparation can turn an urgent service call into a manageable repair.
